05 Dec When to have aesthetic treatments before a big event
Party season is well and truly underway. With work celebrations, Christmas Day festivities and New Year’s fun just around the corner, what better time to indulge in a little aesthetics treatment to rejuvenate your skin?
With that in mind it’s important to book your procedure at just the right time to ensure you are looking and feeling your best self ahead of your festive bash. When should you visit VIVA for your confidence boosting complexion refresh? How long should you wait for bruising and swelling to settle? How much downtime is required for dermal fillers? Find out now.
PRP ‘Vampire Facial’
If you are opting for our Kardashian-approved PRP facial which utilises the body’s own healing abilities to plump and revive the skin, recovery and downtime is usually very minimal. That said, we recommend allowing at least 2 weeks for any bruising and swelling to subside before a big event.
We offer a great range of dermal filler treatments at VIVA London & Kent. They are incredibly versatile and perfect for refreshing small concerns prior to a big event.
Our procedures are carried out by medical doctors and we use the best, most rigorously tested products as well as advanced techniques to minimise bruising and swelling as much as possible. Any bruising should go down within 14 days but to ensure enough recovery time before an important event we recommend allowing 4 weeks.
At VIVA we use Botox to address fine lines and wrinkles, a popular choice when it comes to achieving a more refreshed and youthful look. When having this treatment it’s important to remember that it takes up to 14 days for maximum Botox results to be achieved and it may be recommended that you come back to clinic for a quick treatment top-up after this time. Again, before a big party 3-4 weeks is recommend following treatment.
The luxury facial everyone is talking about. AQUAGOLD fine touch offers the ideal solution for adding an instant glow and hydration to your skin, leaving you feeling 100% party ready.
In comparison to other dermaroller style treatments, the AQUAGOLD device is much kinder to sensitive areas. Further to this, pure gold has a high biocompatibility with human skin and is therefore much less likely to cause irritation. Therefore this treatment should only leave a little short-lived redness but we recommend allowing 1-2 weeks before your festive get-together to ensure the skin has enough time to completely heal.
Want to speed up recovery time? To help swelling go down following treatment, ice can be applied to the area. Arnica is also a particularly effective way to combat bruising and can be topically applied in gel form.
If you do experience some soreness after your appointment, it can be tempting to reach for the painkillers but it’s important to remember to avoid Ibuprofen and other NSAIDs as they thin the blood and can actually increase your risk of bruising, swelling and bleeding. If you need something to target pain, Paracetamol is a better choice.
