One of Dr Rupert’s 2020 predictions for the world of aesthetics was that the popularity of men’s treatments would continue to soar. We’re glad to see the stigma around men’s treatments gradually ebbing away and the acceptance of men’s beauty being recognised and amplified. Here’s what we expect to be offering more of to our male clients this year:
Most men will develop wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes as they age. A deep frown line is very common, often caused by years of computer use and continuous squinting. If the creases are deep enough, anti-wrinkle injections can be prescribed to smooth out these unwanted lines providing youthful, natural-looking results.
Dermal Filler Masculinisation
Certain features are traditionally deemed masculine, such as a strong chiselled jawline, a broad facial contour, prominent cheekbones and a well-defined chin. Every client receives their own bespoke treatment plan so whilst some may opt for one or two specific procedure points, others may benefit from a small amount of product being spread across multiple areas of the face.
The right course of action for you will be discussed and decided during your one-to-one consultation. A masculinisation treatment could include:
- Jawline Enhancement: JUVÉDERM VOLUX is a specially formulated filler for the lower face, perfect for creating noticeably sharper jawlines with more structure and definition.
- Chin Fillers: Adding dermal filler to the chin to add prominence to the lower face. This treatment is particularly useful for those with a slightly weaker or proportionally unbalanced chin.
- Cheek Filler: Enhancing the midface to add lift and structure to the cheekbones works excellently to instantly accentuate typically male contours. This procedure can also be used to bring balance to jaw and chin enhancements, harmonising overall facial proportions.
- Lip Enhancement: Many male clients also opt for a subtle lip plump, a universally attractive feature for all genders.
Other Non-Surgical Treatments For Men
Targeting the hollows beneath the eyes which often lead to dark circles and ‘bags’, Tear Trough Filler is a great option for patients who want to look more awake and refreshed or for those who lead a busy lifestyle which puts a strain on their skin.
Also known as a ‘Liquid Nose Job’, this treatment can be used to address dorsal humps, shallow nasal bridges, assymetry and droopy nasal tips. It’s a very popular treatment among male clients and can even be used to mask the appearance of a previous break in the nose.
PRP Collagen Renewal Facial/ Acne Treatment
Our PRP Collagen Renewal Facial can be used to combat a number of skin complaints. The procedure involves drawing a small amount of the patients’ own blood, centrifuging and purifying before reintroducing into the skin to revitalise the whole complexion. The Platelet-Rich Plasma heals the skin from within and stimulates the growth of new collagen. It can also be directly injected under problem areas for acne, scars and deep wrinkles.
Hair loss is a common result of the natural aging process, particularly for men. PRP Therapy for Hair Regeneration is an effective solution for hair thinning and balding. It works in a similar way to the PRP Facial but instead uses the body’s own built-in healing abilities to grow new hair follices.
The AQUAGOLD® fine touch™ is a wonderfully effective and versatile treatment for both men and women. It is a non-surgical treatment that delivers a blend that includes hyaluronic acid at optimal skin depth via 20 tiny gold plated needles. This works to refresh the whole complexion and address an array of skin complaints.
