How To Look Less Tired

Looking tired is a frustrating concern for many. Nobody wants to appear sleep deprived but ageing, sun exposure, lifestyle factors, pollution and of course lack of sleep all take their toll over time and can leave the complexion looking a little lacklustre. If you are looking to get that healthy glow back, read on to find out our top tips.

Lifestyle:


Sleep:

Most adults need 6-9 hours sleep per night so ensuring you set a regular bedtime and wake up at the same time each day can really help you to look and feel your best. If you struggle to sleep, taking some time to wind down before bed, without the distraction of technology or stresses of work is critical. Instead of looking to social media scrolling to relax, try a warm bath, reading a book or practising some light yoga exercises.

Smoking:

Smoking reduces the blood flow to your skin and this means it is starved of the oxygen and nutrients it needs. Over time this leads to fine lines and wrinkles, discolouration and a sunken appearance. Quitting smoking will help to slow the ageing process and reverse the development of a sallow, lined complexion.

Diet:

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is important for your health but also for the way you look. Ensuring you get a good mix of vitamins and minerals can help to keep the skin looking bright and healthy, with vitamins A, C and E being particularly beneficial for the complexion. It’s also so important not to forget your water intake – 8 glasses throughout the day is recommended for adults.

Sun Exposure:

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a healthy tan. But as well as being a danger to our health, UV radiation from the sun is one of the main environmental factors that ages the skin, leading to wrinkles, dryness and loss of elasticity. Protect your skin by wearing an SPF 30 daily, even when the sun isn’t out.


Treatments:


Tear Trough Filler:

Dark circles and hollowness under the eyes is an extremely common factor that makes us appear tired. Our tear trough filler treatment uses Juvederm dermal filler to refresh the under-eye area, using a specialised micro-cannula technique. The procedure itself is quick and fuss free and involves using just two injection points to carefully place dermal filler and plump the skin from underneath. This subtly fills and smooths hollowness, whilst ensuring natural looking results.

Mid-face Dermal Filler:

Restoring volume in the cheeks and temple area works wonderfully to lift the whole complexion.
